Stafford led part of Mythos' ground forces that were attempting to repel the Pandoran invaders in the late-2617 invasion of Coyote. His team were around twenty-one strong, before they were cut down to just four (including himself) during a battle in New Malaga's financial district. From then on, his team consisted of himself, Edie Thompson, Kent Milligan, and Sebastian Smith.

Stafford and his surviving team-mates met Estelle de Winter and Chaz Koonan on the way from Orca Beach to the airport and, after interrogating them to discover whose side they were fighting on, took them to Hunter's Square to meet James Potter.

Along with the rest of his squad, he took part in the battle of Hunter's Square. He was eventually killed when a Spider tank and several Pandoran soldiers with portable shields and skybikes attacked the square from all sides. The exact details of his death were not revealed.
