Milligan was part of a unit led by John Stafford, who attempted to repel the Pandoran forces that attacked New Malaga, during their invasion of the Coyote system. Along with Edie Thompson and Sebastian Smith, he survived an encounter in the city's financial district that apparently eliminated seventeen members of the original unit.

Milligan later took part in the battle of Hunter's Square where he took down a number of the enemy from hidden positions. He was finally killed during an ambush by a Spider Tank and a number of skybikes. The exact details of his death were not revealed.
