A highly contagious, airborne disease that, when introduced into the the victim's blood stream, will make its way towards the brain. There it inhibits various neural functions, most commonly those that handle sight and hearing.

Is easily treated and a case has not been reported for over 100 years.

 

The Honour of the Knights [Toggle Spoilers]

In June 2617 Merekat made an emergency jump into the Temper system, with a suspected outbreak of the fever amongst crew members. The case was never proven, as the vessel was destroyed before it reached Spirit Orbital.
