A Skip is a type of jump, that allows an object to journey a small distance in a short space of time. The distances covers are tiny compared to those of true jump technology.

As the distance covered is only a few hundred thousand kilometres at most (as opposed to many thousands of light years, as used by commercial and military jump drives), it is an impractical method of transportation, even for inner system craft. The only device in existence that is known to utilize such technology is the Tachyon Star Bomb.
