The Sapper was acquired by the Pandoran fleet during the war, and encountered by Elliott Parks' fleet when he arrived in the Krasst system. The Sapper attacked them immediately and aggressively, causing the fleet to retreat.

The crew of the vessel had been driven mad by the malfunctioning nanomachine in their bodies, leading them to attack one another and also mutilate their own bodies (the captain having removed his own eyes). A broadcast sent from the ship alleged that the battleship's bridge was like a badly run abattoir.
