Laser Type

A weapon that fires a straight, thin beam of heat energy at a target. The beam moves exceptionally fast, close to the speed of light, but is not as powerful as plasma-based weapons.

Two typical types are available: a pistol, that acts as a personal side arm, and one designed to counter protective energy shields. These are typically mounted on starfighters and other military hardware.
