The Black Orchid was one of many major allied warships that travelled to the Adetton system, to participate in phase two of Black Widow.

The ship was crippled during the ambush by the full-strength Pandoran army. Knowing that the ship was doomed, the captain sacrificed the destroyer to allow the still combat worthy Cratos to escape the system, drawing the fire of two Pandoran frigates that were targeting the dreadnought. None of the Black Orchid's crew escaped.
